The Landgale's compressed cinnamon tablet is an effective and reliable remedy for colds and influenza or so the label says. Producing cinnamon products since 1745, Langdale's products achieved widespread popularity during the 19th Century. It was widely used in WW1. This item is in good condition considering it is probably over 80 years old. The rectangular tin is made of a thin gauge of metal with a simple paper label which would indicate a war-time or immediate post-war time frame. The tin is guilded but has rust spots externally and internally. The simple hinge continues to work well and the lid fits snuggly. The white label has brown staining caused by the rust but can still be read easily. A great item for a collector of vintage tins, for someone who collects medicinal items or for someone interested in war-time artifacts.
