The ultimate in multi-functional games, a combination of chess and draughts, all together in a single box. The box is strong and although several of the corners have split they have been repaired decades ago with adhesive tape. The box is heavily discoloured due to the tape and the passage of time. There is no clear indication of the age of this item although it likely dates from the 1950's but could very well be earlier. Inside is a full compliment of 32 pieces. Made of early plastic (possibly Bakelite) the pieces are black or walnut brown in colour. Each piece is double sided, one side being moulded as a traditional draughtsman while the other side has the traditional chess piece designs. No game board is supplied. An item ideal for a collector of vintage chess or draught sets, for a collector of early plastics or as a prop in a production.
