It's World Cup year, for any teenage boy football was a prioity but it would be another four years before he would witness the greatest final at Wembley Stadium in '66. Until then he would have to occupy his time reading his favourite comic, The Victor, and collecting the cards that were issued free with it. Depicting some of the biggest soccer and rugby stars of the age, each card shows monochrome photographs of three stars. A total of 48 players on 16 cards. The players featured are: Ron Yates, Bobby Charlton, Ted Phillips, Ivor Allchurch, Ron Flowers, Jose Santamaria, Pat Crerand, Phil Woosnam, Harry Gregg, Pele, Vinty Karalius, Billy Bingham, Alex Elder, Colin Barlow, Mick McNeil, Alec Hamilton, Albert Blan, Alan Harrington, Jimmy Walsh, Raymond Kopa, Ray Pointer, George Herd, Bobby Robson, Neil Fox, Jim Armfield, Dragoslav Sekularac, John Connelly, Ron Ashman, Kurt Hamrin, Eddie Connachan, Peter McParland, Cliff Jones, Joe Baker, Danny Blancheflower, Jack Fairbank, Dave Wilson, Johnny Haynes, Gerry Hitchins, Jim Baxter, Ray Wilson, Albert Cheesebrough, Bryan Douglas, Jimmy McIlroy and Dennis Law. The plastic wallet is intact but the surface is worn. The cards appear to have been cropped at some stage but neither the pictures of the text on the reverse have been damaged. A great item for a trade card collector, a sports fan or someone who collects comic related ephemera.
