This compact, single volume incorporates all that is required to alliviate symptoms of common ailments using the power of plants. However, on reading the conditions that can be treated and the ingredients of the treatments we high recommend that none of the preparations are created or used in any form. This paperbook manual has sections covering: body diagrams, therapeutic action, health rules, infectious diseases, ailments, formulary and cooking for the sick. Within the book are some coloured anotomical plates, description of ailments and recipes for creating the treatments. Also included are advertisments for medical products such as Slippery Elm Food, Dandelion Coffee, Kasbah Kidney Remedy,Catarrh Pastilles and Tyro=Lol which were all made or sold by Potter & Clarke Ltd who also act as publishers for this book. It is a fascinating read looking at how ailments may have been treated at that time such as asthma being relieved by smoking Potter's asthma cigarettes or tabacco. The book itself is in very good condition considering it's over 60 years old. As would be expected for such an item there is some creasing and corners folded. The pages inside are clean and unmarked. A delightful object for anyone interested in vintage medical matters, for someone interested in old advertisments or simply as a very interesting and amusing read.
