Description
If logic and breaking hidden codes is your thing, then this item is right for you. This item is an early example, very possibly a first edition. Considering this game has been played with for over four decades it is in remarkably good condition. The box remains strong and intact. There is slight creasing and rubbing especially at the corners and there is to a small tear in the lid although it doesn't detract from the game's overall appearance. There are a few small remnants of clear adhesive tape and some areas where tape has been removed the surface was suffered minimal damage. The original price label shows this game was purchased from WH Smiths for 87p. The lid retains it's colouring and depicts the customary beautiful Oriental woman standing next to a seated gentleman who looks like a baddie from a James Bond film. On the underside the instructions are still attached although one section has become seperated. The contents are clean, undamaged and complete. The brown, plastic games board and shield are in excellent order. The coloured code pegs and the black and white marker pegs are housed in a thick, transparent plastic storage box. The marker pegs are much longer than those in typical later editions which suggests that this is indeed an early example. An ideal item for a vintage games collector, for someone who collects the many Mastermind editions, someone who appreciates 1970's design or as originally intended a fun family game.
