The opening credits of this cult American television show, The Planet of the Apes, was far more scary to a young boy than a whole army of Daleks in Dr Who. The series follows astronauts, Pete Burke and Alan Virdon, as they travel around with their chimpanzee friend, Galen trying to avoid capture by the gorillas. This 20th Century Fox authorised edition of the annual dates from 1976. For it's age this book is in remarkably good condition. The hardback covers are undamaged and unfaded, while the binding remains strong. The book is clean throughout and is unclipped showing the original price of £1.10. Packed full of activities including stories, cartoon strips, dot to dots, a game and cut outs to create a Planet of the Apes world. Two of the puzzles have been completed by the original owner but the rest remain untouched and it doesn't detract from the enjoyment of the book. A great item for a fan of the series, an enthusiast of 1970's American Sci-Fi television, or for someone wishing to recapture their childhood.
