British Rail Passenger Network 1983-84 Map
£5.00 inc. tax
Description
All aboard!!! Predating the privatisation by a decade, this piece of British Rail ephemera is over 30 years old. Published by British Rail the map shows the entire Passenger Network as it stood between May 1983 and May 1984. This type of item was supposed to be disposable, as it would have been updated and replaced annually, which makes this all the more remarkable that it has survived in such good condition. Made of thin paper and folded to a large pocket size it remains intact with no holes or tears and only minimal creasing. The printing on both sides is crisp and in full unfaded colour. On the front the map shows all the stations in the country, along with connecting links to Sealink Jetfoil and Shipping Services, Hoverspeed Hovercraft Services and airport links. On the reverse are six sections showing zoomed in details of the following areas: London and the South East, Clyde and Forth Valley, Newcastle, Liverpool - Leeds - Manchester - Sheffield, Cardiff - Bristol, Birmingham - West Midlands. A must have item for any Rail enthusiast, or collector of British Rail items, or someone with a connection to the railways or if framed as a display item suitable for any room.
