Undoubtedly the most famous word game ever and responsible for improving the spelling and word power of generations around the world. This item has been designed specifically with younger children, aged 6yrs to 10yrs, in mind. This item is over 40 years old and has survived remarkably well. The box is strong and intact although one corner has split and there is the slightest rubbing around the corners and edges. The lid shows a colourful illustration of the game instead of the typical green box with stylised title that adorns the adult versions of the day. On the reverse of the lid are printed the instructions of the two games that can be played with this set. Inside the box the plastic storage tray is in perfect condition as are the large cardboard letter tiles and red counters. The reasons for the development of this game are printed on the internal cardboard insert. The double sided, folded cardboard playing grid remains colourful with small pictures. Overall a great example of this game. Ideal for a collector of vintage games or a Scrabble set collector, or as originally intended a fun and educational game for improving the spelling and word power of young children.
