Everyone loves a bargain and here is one, two traditional games for the price of one. Even better there are enough backgammon pieces to be able play draughts so that's three games for the price of one. This item was produced in the former GDR (East Germany) during the early 1980's although it's 1970's inspired colouring and design makes it look older. The box is quite flexible but is intact. There is a little rubbing and creasing, no fading and the only surface damage appears to be from the removal of a price label. Inside there is no storage tray and it's doubtful if there ever was one as it cuts down on the production costs. The playing pieces are made from plastic and are in the traditional colours of black and white. The white chess pieces have discoloured due to poor manufacturing quality. The double sided games board is in perfect condition. The instruction booklet is also included. Ideal for a vintage games collector or chess/backgammon enthusiast or as a basic started kit for a beginner to chess and backgammon.
