A diamond in the rough.  This item proves you should never judge things on their initial appearance.  The box can only be described as tired but so would most of us be if we were as old as this.  The lid flap is missing, there are small tears and creases, the reverse design has been shaded in with a pencil and the surface of the box is grubby looking.  Having said this the box has done it's job over eight decades in protecting the contents.  The set of cards have survived in remarkably good condition with just one with a noticeable crease.  Depicting fairy tale characters who look more suited being in a pantomime, there are 16 pairs in total.  The design and vibrant colouring is exquisite.  A great item for a card or vintage toy collector, someone interested in design or as a decorative object.
