"Sweets of Fame" Parkes Classic Confectionery Ltd Tin
£5.00 inc. tax
Description
"Among the heathy hills and ragged woods," as Robert Burns once said and aptly used as a quote on this decorative, rectangular, vintage confectionery tin. This item probably dates from the 1950's to 1960's and produced to hold "Sweets of Fame" by Parkes Classic Confectionery Ltd of Birmingham. Apart from the remnants of the original packaging label, superficial scratches and slight rubbing around the edge of the lid, this tin has survived remarkably well. The lid depicts a painting of a typical Scottish scene of the River Gruinard in Ross-Shire with mountains in the background and stands out from the vivid red sides of the tin. A great item for anyone connected to Scotland or the area shown, for someone connected to the Parkes company, a collector of vintage confectionery objects, or simply as a decorative item suited for any room of the house.
