Looks like rain again! So while waiting for the showers to pass you can read this handy pocket sized reference book to find out the science behind the weather. Believed to be an early edition this book has survived remarkable well considering it's age and the use it would have had over the decades. It still retains the original dust jacket, which is not price clipped or faded but does have a few small tears and creases. The binding remains strong. The interior of the book contains coloured illustrations, line drawings and real monochrome photographs. Some of the pages show slight signs of foxing and the front page has a dedication written in 1959.  Overall a great item for a professional or amateur meteorologist, for a collector of vintage Observer books or for someone to read while on holiday.
