Modern Amsterdam conjures up images of coffee shops, the Red Light District and maurading stag party groups this book shows an Amsterdam in more innocent times. The concept of this book is to look at Amsterdam as a whole, from dawn to dusk, through the eyes of ordinary people. Dating from 1952, the book contains numerous atmospheric monochrome photographs taken at locations around the city not usually seen by tourists. Captions accompany most of the illustrations. The book is in excellent, clean and undamaged condition.  A wonderful item for someone with a connection to Amsterdam, for someone interested in photography or for someone interested in vintage travel.
