Considered to be the godfathers of British comedy and loved by Prince Charles, The Goons BBC radio show aired between 1952 and 1960. Consisting of Peter Sellers, Harry Secombe and Spike Milligan they created colourful characters that spread joy during the gloomy post war years of the 1950's. This book consists of nine full scripts from shows broadcast between 1954 to 1956 and specially chosen by Spike Milligan. Each script is illustrated throughout with doodles by Spike. Along with the scripts is a history of The Goons, printed newspaper articles, photographs and biographies of the cast and main characters. This paperback book remains intact with no loose pages. Overall the book is in great shape. The cover has minor wear and slight creasing. Along the spine there is some rubbing but there is no fading so the cover remains as vibrant as the day it was printed. Inside the pages are undamaged and in good clean condition. Due to passing time the pages are beginning to brown around the edges which adds to that vintage appearance. A great gift for a fan of The Goons, someone who enjoys classic British comedy or for someone interested in scriptwriting.
