Ever fancied being a London property magnet? Well you can now with the most popular property game ever. This particular edition dates from the between 1956 and 1959 and considering it has been played with for about six decades it is in fantastic condition. At the time of manufacture the box with the gaming contents were separate from the board and in many cases, as with our example, the board has gone missing. The compact, red and white box is in very good condition, remaining strong and intact. The lid has the typical Monopoly illustration and the trade mark reference number 711981. There is slight rubbing to the edges, some grubby marks to the surface that adds to that vintage look and also a couple of marks from old adhesive tape. The contents are in amazingly good condition and complete. The houses, hotels and dice are wooden, the money and cards are clean with no damage whatsoever. The coloured, metal playing tokens include: a golden sailing ship, a green tank, a blue steam train, a red car, a yellow bulldozer and a silver motorbike. Also included is the instruction leaflet, which has been folded for so long that it has begun to tear ever so slightly along the fold, the short game rules and even the factory checking ticket. A really great item for a Monopoly collector or enthusiast, a collector of vintage games, as an item in a 1950's themed room or display or as a family game as originally intended.
