King George VI 1937 Coronation Compact Mirror
£6.00 inc. tax
Description
A royal event results in the production of a mass of merchandise commonly paper ephemera or mugs but occassionally you can come across something more unusual. From the mountain of items produced for the Coronation of King George VI in 1937 we have unearthed a compact mirror souvenir. This simple item is just a circular mirror fitted into a metal case. With no dents or rust the casing is in perfect condition. Upon it is an unfaded, coloured transfer depicting King George VI and Queen Elizabeth surrounded with royal regalia and the names and flags of New Zealand, South Africa, Australia, India and Canada. The mirror, being over 80 years old, has developed some aging marks behind the glass but this doesn't detract from it's use and adds that authentic vintage look. A great item for any collector of Royal Memorabilia, or as part of a themed display or as originally intended a handy mirror able to fit in a handbag or pocket.
