"Grange Hill", the classic BBC TV children's drama series ran from 1978 to 2008. For us of a certain age the earlier series of the 1970's and 1980's were our first insight into the goings on at a comprehensive school. Early characters such as Tucker Jenkins (played by Todd Carty), Benny Green (Terry Sue Patt), Alan Humphries (George Armstrong) and Trisha Yates (Michelle Herbert) became more like our classmates with their antics. Being devised by Phil Redmond, the popularity of the show was enhanced by the creation of authorised merchandise. This item is one such piece. Produced in 1980 this book, written by Robert Leeson, was the first "Grange Hill" novel. Being 37 years old this book is in very good condition. There is no damage what so ever apart from minimal rubbing along the edges. The binding remains strong. On the front is a coloured photograph of Tucker, Alan and Benny while on the back is a coloured photograph of Trisha. A great item for a fan of "Grange Hill", or for a collector of television memorabilia or simply for someone looking to relive their childhood.
