Description
One for rock lovers. No not music or confectionery but that which makes the very planet we live on. This book is a handy pocket sized reference book for that ultimate science, Geology and yes I am biased. Believed to be an early edition this book has survived remarkable well considering it's age and the use it would have had over the decades. It still retains the original dust jacket, which is not price clipped or faded but does have a few small tears and the inside flaps still have pieces of old adhesive tape attached. The binding remains strong. The interior of the book contains 182 coloured illustrations, line drawings and real monochrome photographs. Some of the pages show slight signs of foxing and the edges are discolouring due to age and the Sun and the front page has the name or a previous owner written in pencil. Overall a great item for a professional or amateur geologist, for a collector of vintage Observer books or for someone interested to know more about what is under their feet.
