As it says on the box "Just the job for the young artist!" The basic idea for this artistic toy is to insert a outline diagram within a frame beneath a frosted glass plate. Then using a pencil, coloured pencils or even water colours trace the image staight onto the glass. Once finished the glass plate can the be wiped clean with a damp cloth and a new sketch begun. Very simple but very effective. Being over 60 years old the box is in excellent condition. There is some slight rubbing along the edges and corners. The colouring of the box design remains vivid and unfaded. The surface has taken on a slight grubby appearance which adds to that authentic vintage look. On the underside is a written inscription. Inside the glass plate and wooden frame are in excellent condition. It also comes with a selection of ten diagrams to be traced which vary in condition. For some the paper is turning brown, most are creased through decades of use and at least one has been coloured in by an over ethusiastic young artist. Included is the instruction leaflet and a replacement pencil.  A nice item deal for a collector of vintage toys, as an item in a display or for someone reliving their childhood.
