Clinometer

Description
For those of us, who are veterans of Geography and Geology school fieldtrips, a clinometer was a standard piece of equipment used to measure the angle of a slope or dip of a rock bed. This particular item dating from the late 1960's to mid 1970's was designed for ease of use particularly for younger children as an educational aid. All a child had to do was aim the clinometer at the top of a building or tree, etc and then pull the trigger releasing the dial upon which a graduated scale displayed the angle. Made with two tone grey plastic and a small Lead weight on the dial it is a simple but effective design. Made by Invicta, who also made the Mastermind game, this item remains in good clean condition and still fully working after decades of use. The original box is undamaged although over the years it has taken on a slightly grubby appearance, with minimal creasing at corners and remnants of adhesive tape but this all adds to that vintage look. The original label is still attched. Also included is the small paper instruction booklet with a black and white photograph of a young schoolboy using the clinometer in 1960's period clothing. A great item for a retired teacher, for a collector of vintage educational items or to be used as originally intended for younger children in lessons.
