They're off! which is the English name of this game. This is a unique chance to acquire a Canadian horse racing game that is over 40 years old. Although called horse racing this is what we would call trotting. It's believed that the makers of this game only sold it in Ontario, Canada so to find it here in England and in an un-played condition is quite remarkable. The box remains strong and intact. There is no fading but some slight rubbing along the edges and some creasing which adds to authenticate it's decades in storage. The lid depicts a race track with two coloured photographs of a horse and  driver, possibly comic actor Jacques Desrosiers. There are also monochrome photographs of announcer Donald Pinard and driver, Gilles Gendron. The contents are complete and in perfect clean unused condition. Each player receives an official programme which includes the instructions and just like being at a real race they also contain race details and advertisements from local businesses. The money and Tote book contains all the un-separated paper components. All text is bilingual so you don't need to be fluent in French. The race commentary of 8 different races are heard by playing the 4 LP sized vinyl records which have been computerized for over 190 different finishes.  The records are in perfect condition with no scratches seen.  A unique item ideal for someone connected with racing, a vintage games collector, as a creative educational aid to help someone learn more complex French or as originally intended as a race night party as long as there's a record player present.
