Pinocchio Design Confectionery Tin
£7.00 inc. tax
Description
"When you wish upon a star, makes no difference who you are, anything your heart desires..." a refill of delicious confectionery for an empty Pinocchio tin perhaps!! This item probably dates from the mid 1950's after sugar and butter rationing finally ceased. The colourful lid depicts Walt Disney's version of Pinocchio and Jiminy Cricket with scenes from the movie in the background. Through use and age the lid has suffered some small dents and minor surface scratches but this doesn't detract from the overall look and enhances that vintage appearance. There is no evidence of any rusting. The simple hinge still works perfectly. The base of the tin has a gold coloured finish and again has some minor dents and scratches. Stamped into the base is the makers details "Made in England, Edward Sharp & Sons Ltd of Maidstone, Kent." A great item for a collector of Disney merchandise, a collector of vintage tins or for someone interested in the history of Maidstone.
