Not about decorating the house but a handy pocket sized reference book about Art History and the Old Masters. Believed to be a 1st edition this book has survived remarkable well considering it's age and the use it would have had over the decades. It still retains the original unfaded dust jacket, which has been price clipped and does have a few small tears and creases. The binding remains strong. The interior of the book contains coloured illustrations, line drawings and real monochrome photographs. Some of the pages show slight signs of foxing and the edges are discolouring due to age and the Sun and the front page has a dedication written in ink. Overall a great item for a professional or amateur art historian, for a collector of vintage Observer books or for someone interested to know more as they walk around an art gallery.
